I recently attended the RomaDrone Expo in Rome, Italy and would like to share some of the models exposed. The expo was very much oriented at the professional market. Models were mainly big multirotors with high payloads, to lift DSLR cameras, and some “wings” models for mapping. This is not a comprehensive overview, just some models that attracted my attention.

Predator Drone
Finally seen one live. I guess that until it is on the ground and I can see it, all will be fine. The drone has a “remove before flight” tag on the front.

A very original design for these multi rotors. There was a small quadcopter and a big hexacopter.
Drone Point Forensics Multirotor FM-1

Drone Point presented a Y6 multi rotor mainly aimed at forensics applications, characterized by a double camera, typically a GoPro and a night vision camera.

Rather than manifacturing new models, these guys specialize in modifying existing models to achieve particular functionalities. Some really interesting stuff, as a modded Walkera Ladybird with 700m operating range and 8 mins flight time.
I never realized how small is the proto quad with respect to a Ladybird, that seems huge in comparison. The photo above makes the point.
Selex-ES
Some special models from Selex-ES, mainly aimed at videosurveillance
Stay tuned on the Personal Drones blog for the latest multirotor and quadcopter news!
